What is a City Center?  A city center creates jobs and attracts new businesses.  It contributes to the unique character of our city.  The city center provides a gathering place for cultural activity and serves as a hub to connect people, cars, pedestrians, bicyclists and transit.  Listen to what people said on a CCTV special assignment - select 2007, Vision 2020 Word on the Street - 11/15/07.

Salem Vision 2020 is a community-wide process that will help shape the future of the city center, the area that includes the downtown and West Salem business districts, plus the Capitol Mall and Willamette University and Salem Hospital campuses.  Learn what people said in the first survey.

The Top 24 Ideas (Forum: 280 Participants) were generated from thie first forum.
