Forming the Vision
On December 5, 2007, some 280 area residents met at the Salem Conference Center to discuss their shared vision for the downtown – what they like, and what’s missing Salem Vision 2020 Community Forum - (CCTV select 12/05/07) .

What is a City Center? A city center creates jobs and attracts new businesses. It contributes to the unique character of our city. The city center provides a gathering place for cultural activity and serves as a hub to connect people, cars, pedestrians, bicyclists and transit.
