Better Connections

Provide more activities and facilities in Riverfront Park - Salem Vision 2020 participants sought to enjoy more outdoor activities in the City Center’s premier waterfront green space - Riverfront Park - home to a carousel, playground, the Willamette River Queen, walking paths, picnic areas, the new interactive spray fountain, the Mayor’s Summertime Concert Series, and many annual festivals.

Suggestions: encouraging picnicking with food vendors and coffee carts; an interpretive nature center at the park, outdoor movies, ice-skating rink, basketball courts, a climbing wall, and more.
