MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Possess a valid police officer basic certificate, or be eligible for recertification from the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training; or an equivalent certification and recent experience as a municipal, county or state police officer.
• 21 years of age upon appointment as a police officer
• Possess good communication skills
• High school graduate (or possess G.E.D.)
• Written examination
• U.S. citizenship
• Oral interview
• Excellent moral character
• Willing to work nights, weekends and holidays
• Valid drivers license
• Minimum reading and writing skills -12th grade level
• Meet or exceed minimum physical standards
• Demonstrate having made good life choices, as determined by an extensive, in depth background investigation
• Meet all applicable physical, vision, hearing and psychological examination requirements (after conditional offer of hire)
