Housing and Social Services Division
Administering the City's federally funded block grant, housing and social service funds to support affordable housing and other programs serving low income residents of Salem and Keizer. The Housing and Social Services Division focuses on core services that benefit the economic development of the community, including housing and social services.

Salem Housing AuthorityServes low-income individuals or families in Salem-Keizer, provides the opportunity to live in decent, affordable housing, and move toward self sufficiency. Offers rental assistance and self-sufficiency training. Housing Authority CommissionThe Commission approves Housing Authority actions related to matters of policy in program operation, housing development and resident services. Housing Advisory CommitteeAdvises the Housing Authority Commission and provides guidance to the Salem Housing Authority on matters of policy in program operation, housing development and resident services. |

Federal ProgramsManages the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnership entitlement from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development. Social ServicesPromotes emergency social services through government and community partnerships for the purpose of enhancing the quality of life for community residents, and provides critical services. Housing LoansIncludes: Single Family Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program and Critical Home Repair Loan Program. |
