Field inspectors obtain compliance with applicable codes and ordinances, by inspecting structural framework, fire and life safety requirements, plumbing, mechanical and electrical systems. The inspectors are responsible for both residential and commercial structures.
Inspections are provided Monday through Friday, 8:00am through 4:00pm (except holidays). Building and Safety's goal is to respond to all inspections requested within 24 hours.

The City has inspection activities performed by two different city operations - both the Building & Safety Division of the Community Development Department and Development Services of the Public Works Department.
