Public Records Info - Building Records
Building plans, permits, applications, and other related building documents are considered party to the City of Salem's - Legal Department, Public Records Policy. If the bulding project is no longer active, review or copy of any project record(s) would have to be made through the Legal Department accordingly - they then coordinate the release of any approved record(s).
Building and Safety stores all pre-2002 building records as microfilm cards; and then post-2002 building records are imaged electronically into the City's document management system for archive.
Any specific questions regarding release of building records or other related documents can be made to the City Recorder at 503-588-6003.
