Provides main office staff support, including facility reservations and public communication.

Provides programs and services for neighborhood associations, community involvement initiatives, Neighborhood Partnership efforts, youth development and prevention, human rights and relations, and social services.

This Division oversees the acquistion and planning of new parks, as well as landscape architecture for existing properties in town.

The Parks Maintenance Management Section is responsible for the development, management, and maintenance of a park system encompassing 1,874 acres of park and open space areas with 29.53 miles of trails. These areas provide a backdrop for a wide variety of cultural, recreational, and educational pursuits. Parks Maintenance Management supports City goals and objectives by providing park maintenance and management, an urban forestry program, and volunteer labor coordination.

Coordinates day-to-day operations of park use and reservation system including Pringle Hall, Riverfront Park, and Center 50+ (Salem Senior Center).

The Housing Authority of the City of Salem is a division of the Department of Community Services, offering rental housing assistance as well as family self sufficiency and homeownership opportunities to low-income households in Salem and Keizer. The Housing Authority was established by the City of Salem in 1969 outside the scope of the City Charter and under provision of State law.
