Unum Voluntary Long Term Care Insurance

The City of Salem offers voluntary long term care insurance with a variety of benefit options to choose from.

• Benefit duration options
• Monthly facility benefit increments of $1,000 to $6,000
• Home care benefit options
• Inflation protection option

Enrollment can be done at any time. These plans are available to yourself and spouse through payroll deduction.

Long Term Care is the assistance received when someone needs help with two or more activities of daily living-such as dressing, bathing, going to the bathroom, eating or moving about, or when someone suffers a severe cognitive impairment. This care could be provided in the home, in an assisted living or residential care facility, or in a skilled nursing facility such as a nursing home.
