For Services incurred Effective January 1, 2011 the TPA for our PPO plan members will change from HMA to UMR, a subsidiary for United Healthcare and Prescription Solutions is the new Prescription carrier.

UMR is one of the largest national TPA's in the United States with a national provider network under United Healthcare Options PPO network. With UMR we have integrated web tools for medical, vision and prescription claims information as well as wellness tools. Online access to order cards and update information such as Other Insurance and Accident details.

Some of the new features available to all City of Salem UMR members effective January 1, 2011 are: 

• Integrated online access to medical, vision and pharmacy information
• 24 hours/7 days Nurseline
• Maternity Management program with incentives
• Healthcare Advisor from WebMD

Using the Healthcare Advisor from WebMD web tool, you can have access to tools to help you make decisions on your healthcare such as, "How can I find the hospital that best fits my needs?" or "What should I know before having surgery?"
