The intent of the Catastrophic Leave Sharing Program is to provide a means for employees to assist another career employee who, because of a non-occupational catastrophic illness, injury, impairment, or physical or mental condition, which requires inpatient care in a hospital, hospice or residential medical facility; or a non-occupational illness, disease or condition that in the medical judgement of the state licensed treating health care provider poses an imminent danger of death, is terminal in prognosis with a reasonable possibility of death in the near future, or requires constant care.
Career service employees are allowed to participate in the Catastrophic Leave Sharing Program as a recipient or a donor.
Donations may be allowed from accrued:
- vacation hours
- holiday hours
- compensatory hours
