Employee Assistance Programs (EAP)
The City of Salem provides two confidential, no-cost employee assistance programs (EAP) to career employees and their dependents.
The EAP is a free confidential benefit that can assist you with problems that interfere with your day to day activities such as
- Marital conflict
- Interpersonal relationship problems
- Conflict at work
- Financial, legal, consumer concerns
- Child care / elder care
- Depression or anxiety
- Career changes
- Stress management
- Family relationships
- Grieving a loss
- Personal decision making
- Referrals to community resources and information
- Alcohol and drug abuse
There is no charge to you or your eligible family members for telephone contacts or for in-person sessions with an EAP professional. If you need additional assistance after using the EAP benefit, some services may be covered in part by your health insurance.
Crisis counseling is available 24 hours a day, seven days per week.
Contact with EAP is completely confidential. No information is disclosed to anyone outside the EAP without your written concent. (Exceptions are prescribed by law ie child and elder abuse or endangering or posing a threat to self or others).
