To get information on how to run for office, you should set up a meeting with the City Recorder (phone 503-588-6091 or e-mail khall@cityofsalem.net ). The City Recorder will provide you with the necessary documents that must be filled out and provide you with a list of deadlines that must be met.
Campaign Finance information can be found on the Oregon Secretary of State website.
