Summer Reading Boogie Woogie Kick-Off Concert featuring Eric Herman Tuesday, June 4 10:30 & 11:30 am Loucks Auditorium
Preschoolers are invited to gain entry to our Kick-off concert by signing up for Salem Public Library’s Summer Reading the morning of June 4th. Children and their grown-ups will be singing, moving, clapping and laughing with popular entertainer Eric Herman and his fun, bouncy tunes. This children’s concert brought to you through Ready to Read grant funds is guaranteed to make you smile!!!
Doors open 15 minutes before each performance. This event replaces the regular Tuesday morning storytime for that week. |

This summer, the Salem Library is encouraging young readers (and listeners) to Dig into Reading!
Sign ups for this year's Summer Reading Club begin on Tuesday, June 4 and continue through Saturday, August 2. |

Read to a Pet 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. 2nd and last Saturday of the month Children’s Room
This program offers children a relaxing, non-threatening way to improve their reading skills. Visiting dogs and cats have been trained and certified as therapy animals by Paws for Love and are mellow and friendly. This is a drop-in program, and sign-ups are not necessary. |

Monthly Lego Party Saturday, June 15, 2-3:30 pm Children’s Activity Room
Kids and their grown-ups are invited on the third Saturday of every month for an hour of unstructured Lego play. The Legos are provided. Kids only need to bring their imaginations. Lego building takes place from 2:00 to 3:00 pm followed by clean-up from 3:00 to 3:30 pm. No registration is necessary.

Wednesday Summer Performances Summer performers provide family entertainment each Wednesday from June 19 to July 31.
All shows are in Loucks Auditorium.
Free tickets are available (at the Main Library front entrance or Youth Services Desk) at 10 a.m. the day of the show.

Reptile Man — THREE SHOWS! Wednesday, June 19 11 a.m., 1 p.m. & 7 p.m. Loucks Auditorium Once again, Richard Ritchey, “The Reptile Man,” will amaze and awe audience members as he shares fascinating information about the many reptiles and amphibians that he brings to show, including a king cobra, a rattlesnake, and a giant python!

Dragon Puppet Theater presents: “I Dig Dinosaurs” Wednesday, June 26, 11 a.m. & 1 p.m. Loucks Auditorium Shawnry Connery builds a time machine to travel back to see dinosaurs, but travels to the wrong times, accidentally taking other historical characters with him. Will they find the dinosaurs? Can they get home?
