Oregon: A Teen View - Photography Contest
The results are in and the winning photos are on display on the main floor of the Central Library for the Oregon: A Teen View Photo Contest, held in December and January in honor of Oregon’s 150th birthday. Local teens were invited to submit images of people, places or things that represent Oregon to them. In the high school category, 37 photos were received. An additional 14 were submitted by middle school students.
Special thanks to the distinguished judges who volunteered their time to review each division, including: Cara Baldwin, curator for the Salem Art Association’s Bush Barn Museum; Jill Cannefax, professional photographer and owner of Jill Cannefax Photography, Inc.; Ron Cooper, award-winning photographer and photojournalist for the Statesman Journal for 35 years; T.R. Melton, painter, printmaker, writer and an occasional photographer and immediate past chair of the Salem Public Library Art Committee; Diane Stevenson, current photo editor for the Statesman Journal.
