Teen Digital Music Contest Entries due: Friday, May 11
Synthesizers are now available for the Teen Scene Creation Stations, allowing middle and high school-aged youth to create and edit their own digital tracks. Using these or whatever equipment they wish, teens – working alone or in small groups - are encouraged to create, record, and submit 1-3 minute compositions. Creation Stations are available for use during open hours in Teen Scene. Some assistance is available to help aspiring composers get started.
These recordings and the artists who created them will be featured in the Teens Create! Spring Showcase on Thursday, May 17. The winners of the Teen Digital Music Contest will also be announced at the event, with prizes awarded for first, second, and third place.
More information is available from Teen Services Librarian Sonja Somerville at ssomerville@cityofsalem.net or 503-588-6083.
