High Water Watch

Introduction

The City of Salem High Water Watch (HWW) system has been developed to serve as an early warning system for use by regional emergency management staff and for public awareness.

A HWW level has been established for each of the ten continuous stream monitoring stations in Salem, located on five different streams. Stream stage level (stream height) at or above this HWW level does not necessarily indicate that flooding is occurring or imminent.
