The 2009 Oregon State Fair begins on August 28, 2009, and ends on September 7, 2009. During this time road closures are discouraged in the Fair Exclusion Zone.

 Emergency Road Conditions

 

The Public Works Department provides information regarding the emergency and current/projected road conditions throughout the city. Below is a listing of the existing conditions that may affect your transportation needs. Click here for information on obtaining a closure permit.

Capitol Street NE Weight Restriction

The Capitol Street NE Bridge over Mill Creek is weight restricted to the following:

  • 19 tons for a two- or three-axle vehicle (Type 3 Vehicle)
  • 29 tons for a five-axle vehicle (Type 352 Vehicle)
  • 32 tons for a six-axle vehicle (Type 3-3 Vehicle)

Commercial Street SE between Superior Street SE and 12th Street SE will have various lane closures for pavement testing.  Only one lane of traffic will be closed at a time.  Expect some congestion at these locations and use an alternate route if possible.

Kuebler Boulevard SE between the Interstate 5 overpass and Commercial Street SE will have lanes of traffic narrowed and shifted.  Additionally, the speed limit for this section of Kuebler Boulevard SE has been reduced from 45mph to 35mph.  This traffic control and speed limit change will be in place 24/7 until the project is completed.  This traffic control is for a street improvement project.

Lanes of traffic narrowed and shifted for building maintenance work.

The traffic lanes on Sunnyside Road SE at Mildred Lane SE will be narrowed and shifted through this intersection.  This lane closure is for a traffic signal installation.  Expect delays in this area.
