Providing Mobility for the 21st Century . . .
The Salem Transportation System Plan (TSP) is the City's master plan to guide its actions and investments for the 21st century. The Plan is a comprehensive document containing goals, objectives, policies, projects, and programs needed to provide mobility for the next 25 years. The Salem Transportation System Plan is not just an automobile-oriented plan, but creates mobility options for all modes of travel: automobile, transit, bicycle, pedestrian, and freight movement.
The Salem TSP (most recently updated in July 2007) can be viewed below. Printed copies (purchase price of $20) and CD copies (for free) are available at the Public Works Department, 555 Liberty Street SE, Room 325.
The City is currently updating the Bicycle and Pedestrian Elements of the Salem TSP.
