NORTHGATE EXTENSION
In August 2003, the Northgate Avenue Extension road construction contract was awarded to Emery and Sons company of Stayton Oregon. The uninterrupted road connects Salem Industrial Drive with Portland Road, over the railroad track. Along with road construction, Claggett Creek receives flood mitigation by creating more water storage in the streambed and banks. |

NAMING
The "Northgate Avenue Extension" was renamed and its completion was celebrated with the grand opening of "Bill Frey Drive" in August 2005. Eventually a community park is planned for the area around the pond. |
