Managing leases, acquisitions, and sales of property for City and Urban Renewal Agency. Real Property Services provides essential real estate services to City Council, Urban Renewal Agency, and various City Departments.  Acquiring and disposing of real property and property rights are essential functions of the City of Salem.

Real Estate Services manages the acquisition of the City's property needs to help realize neighborhood planning goals and to fulfill Urban Renewal Agency strategies.  Our main functions include: acquisition, appraisal, disposition, leasing, and title research of City and Agency owned property.  We also develop and implement City and Agency real estate policies and maintain an inventory of City and Agency owned property.

City of Salem and Urban Renewal Agency property is occasionally made available for purchase through a sealed-bid process with a set minimum price. Generally,properties for sale are advertised here, on the City’s website, and in a local newspaper with the minimum price, terms, and the bid closing date.
