Scientists have discovered that learning multiple languages is best started during infancy. Babies from birth through 18 months are invited to bring an adult to a bilingual babytime every Wednesday. Adults do not need to speak Spanish to participate.

Los científicos han descubierto que aprender múltiples idiomas se empieza mejor durante la infancia. Los bebés de entre el nacimiento y 12 meses son invitados a traer un adulto a Cuentos Bilingües para Bebés todos los miércoles a la 1:30 p.m. empezando el 5 de julio. Los adultos no necesitan hablar ingles para participar.

 Annual Domestic Violence Awareness RunMinto Brown Island Park10/11/2014 7:30 AM
Established in 1990, the Marion County Domestic Violence Council consists of community members and public agencies committed to ending domestic violence.  Participating in the domestic violence walk/run event or becoming a walk/run sponsor will contribute to on-going awareness activities and will show your support for survivors in our community. Fifty-percent of the profits go to help survivors in our community through Mid-Valley Women's Crisis Service. The other fifty percent help support future awareness events!

Register by 10/8/14. Participants can pick up their race bib number and event t-shirt from 7:15am-9:15am day of race only.

Join us for a morning of exercise and a series of 5K runs/walks. These events are open to all ages and abilities, perfect for the first-time or less experienced runner whose goal is to be active and healthy!
 
Each 5K is capped at 200 participants, so register now to secure your spot. Bibs for each 5K event may be picked up at the Public Works Department the Thursday or Friday before the event. You are welcome to run or walk with a stroller. We ask strollers and walkers to start in the back of the group.
Don Red/White/Blue and exercise your right to vote by dropping off your ballot in the official box and have fun too. So remember to bring your voting ballot! Register at 555 Liberty St SE, Rm 325, 8AM-5 PM, M-F. $5 per event.
