City Offices Will Be Closed for Memorial Day Holiday

The City of Salem would like to remind residents that its offices will be closed Monday, May 29 in observance of the Memorial Day holiday. City offices will reopen for business on Tuesday, May 30.

Confidence in Salem’s Economy is Strong

There are signals that investors and businesses in Salem believe in the strength of our economy. From April 2016 through March 2017, the City of Salem issued 2,102 building permits​, five percent more than the previous year, with a total valuation of roughly $355 million. This is up from the 2,010 permits, valued at $249 million, from the previous year.​
