The Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program provides rent assistance to low-income families, individuals, and persons with disabilities.
Eligible participants receive a voucher to rent homes in the private market. The voucher pays a portion of the rent and the household pays
30 to 40 percent of income for rent and utilities.
