Make a difference in Salem!
No matter what your interest, ability, age, or how much time you have to give, there is a way for you to make a difference in Salem. Volunteers provide a powerhouse of skills, time, talent, and energy. They work together with appointed officials, paid staff, and elected representatives for issues that matter. Volunteers make Salem a home.
On April 13, 2009, City Council received a report on volunteer workers in the City of Salem. Last year, volunteers contributed over 146,000 hours of service last year, at a savings to the City of about $2.9 million. Read about the many ways volunteers enhance City services and Inspire by Example.
