You may volunteer for either Cascades Gateway or Minto Brown Island Parks. Volunteering for the patrol is a great opportunity to get some exercise and help the community at the same time. For more information, contact Tibby Larson at 503-589-2197, or SalemParks@cityofsalem.net.

The Cascades Gateway and Minto Brown Park Patrols are currently taking applications. Patrol duties include:

• Provide information to park users concerning directions, general park information, rules and regulations, and trail conditions.
• Conduct general patrols of the park with emphasis on safety in parking lots and trails, and help to create a user-friendly, user-safe atmosphere in the park.
• Inform Parks Operations staff of hazardous conditions, vandalism, and illegal activities in the park.
• Assist a minimum of eight hours per month.
• Volunteers can choose their own hours.
