The City of Salem recently reorganized to align services that we provide to residents with available resources.

Part of this reorganization resulted in the elimination of most youth recreation programs including soccer, tennis, track and field, and summer sports camps.

Similar activities are provided locally for both "for profit" and "nonprofit" organizations.  View a bilingual list of nonprofit recreation alternatives.

The City of Salem anticipates continuing to offer its softball program, youth Summer Parks program, summer aquatics programs, and Salem Kids Relay event into the future, depending on the availability of funds. The City will also continue to be the point of contact for community organizations to schedule the use of Salem-Keizer School District athletic facilities and City parks.
