Center 50+ is a growing, dynamic organization poised to meet the evolving needs of the 50+ population of today and tomorrow. The Center welcomes input from new participants and partners to help develop a center that meets the needs of those ages 50 and older and serves the community.

Enjoy life-long learning through our lectures and classes.
Stay healthy and active with exercise and outdoor programming.
Explore the arts by attending a dance class, learning the fine skill of drawing and painting, or by joining one of our gallery tour groups.
Meet new friends and enjoy good conversation over a cup of coffee.
Have fun playing cards, billiards, or other games.
Share ideas at one of our book clubs or discussion groups.
Find support and encouragement from others at one of our support groups.

Classes/Activities

Salem's Center 50+ offers a variety of classes, activities, programs and trips for the community.

Volunteer

Center 50+ has limited paid staff, so most tasks are done by volunteers from the community.

On-going Services

More than 600 seniors use the Center daily, on-going programs available most days.

Donations

Contributions will go directly to Friends of the Salem Senior Center.

Best Friends Approach to Alzheimer's Care Workshop Series

Center 50+, City of Salem Senior Center will offer a FREE series of three workshops based on The Best Friends Approach to Alzheimer’s Care, a book written by Virginia Bell and David Troxel. To register for the class, please call Evelyn Ostermann at 503-588-6303.

The Real Inspector Hound
Wednesday, April 21, 7:30 p.m.
Friends of the Salem Senior Center and Pentacle Theatre Present "The Real Inspector Hound" a comedy sature by Tom Stoppard. Tickets can be purchased at Center 50+ for $15. A shuttle from Center 50+ to the Pentacle is available with reservations.

Dr. Maya Angelou Appearing at the Historic Elsinore Theatre

Friends of the Salem Senior Center will host an Evening with Renaissance Woman, Dr. Maya Angelou at the Historic Elsinore Theatre benefitting Center 50+, City of Salem Senior Center. It is an incredible honor that Dr. Angelou made time in her schedule to speak at our event. The event will be a life-changing experience listening to the wit and wisdom of Dr. Angelou. Tickets will be available through the Elsinore Theatre or TicketsWest beginning February 15, 2010. The income from every ticket sold goes directly to fund the programs and services of Center 50+.
