Purpose of Project:
To examine the opportunities for redevelopment in the South Waterfront Urban Renewal Area south of Mission to Owens.
Desired Outcomes/Project Objectives
• Urban design framework for the area to include design principles and guidelines
• Mixed use design concepts or proposal for opportunity sites, feasible within site constraints
• Summary of constraints faced in preparation of design concepts
Deliverables/Work Products
• One or more set of design guidelines
• Draft and final design concepts with accompanying report summarizing proposed redevelopment strategy
SCI Course
• ARCH 683 – Graduate Architectural Design – 6 credits MWF 1:00pm-4:50pm
Timeline, Major Milestones or Tasks
• September 29: Field trip (Salem) to include business and property owners
• October 13 (likely): SCAN will be valuable input to the development of design concepts. SCAN meets on second Wednesday of each month.
• November 1-5: mid-course reviews (Eugene)
• November 29-December 3: final reviews (Eugene)
