Located on the banks of the Willamette River, Salem hugs the I-5 freeway, the primary link between the major cities of Oregon, Washington, and California.  Salem sits in the center of almost limitless recreation: activities from skiing and windsurfing, to deep sea fishing and whitewater rafting, are 90 minutes or less away.  Plus, Salem is situated in the heart of one of the most fertile and diverse agricultural areas in the U.S. 

Salem has assembled one of the largest inventories of shovel-ready land on the West Coast.  Industrial property options include 515-acres of developable land in the Mill Creek Corporate Center; more than 300-acres at Fairview Industrial Park, (close to the Salem Municipal Airport); and the 80-acre Salem Renewable Energy and Technology Park.

At the same time, visionary urban renewal is underway to refresh and revitalize Salem’s downtown Riverfront, open up more mixed-use and retail space, and increase the accessibility of the downtown core to vehicle, pedestrian, and bicycle traffic.

Salem’s water is the envy of cities constrained in their growth by limited water. Our water supply is not only assured for 50 years and beyond, but its quality is second-to-none: “Best in the West,” according to the American Water Works Association. We are currently mid-way through initiatives to double Salem’s drinking water and wastewater treatment capacities.
