RETAIL & COMMERCIALCapitalize on Salem's business and residential growth
Downtown Salem has already attracted such national stores such as Macy’s, Kohl’s, J.C. Penney and Nordstrom. Free parking in the downtown corridor, a modern Conference Center drawing business visitors, and numerous fashionable boutiques add to downtown’s draw as a shopping destination. By any measure, downtown Salem is reaping the rewards of its many attractions as a place to live and work. Its northwest quality of life, the expansion of its private sector, and its traditional role as Oregon’s capitol city combined in 2007 to keep home values appreciating and investment within the city strong. Learn more about our people. A $250 million expansion of the Salem Hospital campus leads a host of projects in or near the downtown that are now or soon to be underway. A host of other new projects, including more than 100 new housing units, were underway near the downtown corridor at the start of 2008. Learn more about current projects and development. New industrial development promises a growing consumer base for local retail businesses. For example, a 160-acre development by Capstone Partners at Mill Creek Corporate Center promises to create some 5,000 new jobs. Learn more about available retail or commercial property in Salem.
