The Salem Parks & Recreation Advisory Board advises the Council on all matters pertaining to public parks, playgrounds and recreational programs. Meetings are held the second Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m.

Special membership requirements: One member shall be chosen to represent the Salem School District. Members shall be chosen from among such persons concerned with and interested in the development of public parks and playgrounds and like public places in the city. Members shall be residents of or have their places of business in the City of Salem.
