The Salem Planning Commission acts as an advisory commission to the City Council with a broad scope of concern in promoting the growth and orderly development of the City of Salem.  Meetings are held the first and third Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m.

Special membership requirements: Not more than one may be a non-resident of the city. No more than one voting member shall be engaged principally in the buying, selling or developing of real estate for profit. No more than one voting member shall be engaged in the same kind of business, trade, or profession.
