1.   ROLL CALL

2.   REPORTS OF BOARDS, COMMISSIONS AND COMMITTEES: Representatives of City Boards, Commissions and Committees may comment on any item of City business except public hearings, deliberations and the merits of land use issues that are reviewable by Council at public hearings.  Representatives must sign up prior to the commencement of this meeting in order to present testimony.
   
   
3.   PUBLIC COMMENT: Up to thirty minutes is available for persons other than City Boards, Commissions and Committee representatives to comment on specific agenda items other than public hearings, deliberations and the merits of land use issues that are reviewable by Council at public hearings.  Each person’s comments will be limited to three minutes.

   Time will be provided at the end of the meeting for comments on issues of City business not on the agenda.

 *  (d) Fire Prevention Grant Application     (FD)

     Recommended Action: Staff recommends that City Council approve submitting an application for Fire Prevention and Safety Grant funds.


    (e ) Salary Adjustments for Sworn Police and Fire Management Employees    (HR)

    Recommended Action:  Staff recommends that, effective June 26, 2006 (beginning of new fiscal year), City Council approve: 1) An additional .6% cost-of-living adjustment for sworn police management employees (Sergeants, Lieutenants, and Deputy Chiefs); 2) An additional 1.1% cost-of-living adjustment for sworn fire management employees (Battalion Chiefs, Division Chiefs, and Deputy Chiefs); 3) Increase the special assignment pay for sworn police management from $.49 per hour to 2.5% per hour; and 4) Provide special assignment pay for sworn police management who are assigned to specific special units or teams at 2.5% per hour, consistent with union represented employees they supervise.

    Recommended Action:  Staff recommends that City Council advance Ordinance No. 71-07 to second reading, establishing a lien on the property listed in the staff report.
