2. PUBLIC COMMENT  (Comment on specific agenda items other than public hearings, deliberations and the merits of land use issues that are reviewable by Council at public hearings.  Each person’s comments will be limited to three minutes.)
 
 
3. ACTION ITEMS: 
 
 (a) Proposed New Senior Center Designs     (CS) and (PW)   

  Recommended Action:  Staff recommends that City Council approve the designs for the proposed Salem Senior Center at Hollywood Station.  

  Communication from:  Northgate Neighborhood Association.

   (New Attachment C added )


  (b) Funding for Downtown Hanging Flower Baskets and Update on Urban Beautification Project     (CM)

  Recommended Action: Staff recommends that City Council approve $10,000 from the Cultural and Tourism Fund to purchase and maintain hanging flower baskets for the downtown area along Liberty Street from State Street to Chemeketa Street, and along Court Street from Commercial Street to High Street. Funds would be part of the $35,000 set aside to improve Salem’s entryways.

  (c) Legislative Report    (Council Legislative Subcommittee)

  Recommended Action:  It is recommended that City Council adopt the positions recommended by the Legislative Subcommittee.
