January 29th, 2008 - House Fire, Lana Avenue

Salem Fire Department received a call for a structure fire at the 1900 block of Lana Ave NE at 4:22 am on Tuesday, January 29, 2008.  The first alarm sent 3 Engines, 1 Ladder Truck, and a Battalion Chief.   First arriving firefighters reported a mobile home and attached shed fully involved with fire.   

Firefighters battled the blaze for over 15 minutes to keep the fire from spreading to any neighboring homes.  Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the building of origin. 

The mobile home and its contents were destroyed by the fire.  A Salem Fire Investigator was requested at 4:46 am.  During his investigation he requested assistance from Salem Police Investigator. 

The occupant was not at home when fire fighters first arrived at scene.  No injuries occurred due to this fire.

Damage was estimated to be over $20,000.
