Bev Harris and Sharon Sarver of the Salem Public Library Technical Services Division offer a basic book repair class, using materials readily available to the general public. Each participant should bring two books in need of repair for hands-on practice. All supplies will be provided for use during the class. Lists of supplies for home repair will be provided. Class size is limited to 12. Pre-registration is necessary through the Information/Reference Desk at 503-588-6052.
Camerata Musica One Sunday afternoon each month from September-May Camerata Musica is a community organization that offers free chamber music concerts. The concerts are varied in instrumentation, personnel, and musical era, and are usually performed by local musicians. Mid-Valley Travel Club 7 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month The Mid-Valley Travel Club is an informal group of people living in the Mid-Willamette Valley of Oregon, who are interested in travel. The group offers free travel discussions from September through June at Salem Public Library to share travel information and listen to presentations by Club members and invited guests on travel to interesting destinations. Socrates Cafe 7 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month in Anderson Room B Socrates Cafe is being offered as a chance to bring philosophy back to the people. This group offers a forum where anyone can discuss ideas and thoughts in a friendly philosophic environment. Topics are posed and discussed freely by the participants.
