Team formation takes place immediately following final registration (December 10). Program participants are placed on teams by school and grade level, then matched with volunteer coaches. Teams are scheduled to play seven games in a recreational league.

It is important to understand the "no request" rule. Parents and participants may not be granted a request for a speicfic team or coach.  Likewise, coaches may not be granted a request for specific players or friends of their children to play on a team they coach. Establishing the "no request" rule was necessary to ensure the random formation of teams, strive toward achieving the goals of the program, meet and make new friends, and work cooperatively with others.
