Criteria: Links to external web sites will only be allowed if they are:

• Federal, State of Oregon and other local government web sites.
• Official sites for events or functions sponsored or co-sponsored by the City of Salem. As used in this policy, "sponsored" and "co-sponsored" means the event or function has funding or support that has been approved by the Salem City Council.
• Non-profit corporations or public benefit organizations, such as officially recognized neighborhood associations and the Salem Art Association, that have a contractual, financial, or official advisory relationship with the City of Salem.
• Nationally accredited institutions of higher learning and professional training institutes located in the area.
• Arts events, cultural events, sports events, major festivals of general interest to City of Salem residents and tourists. Such events and festivals will usually be presented by non-profit corporations.
• Tourist and economic development information from the Salem Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Salem Chamber of Commerce, and the Strategic Economic Development Corporation (SEDCOR).
• Sites that are required for a vendor providing services to the City of Salem under contract to perform that vendor’s contractual obligations.
• Sites that provide software plug-ins necessary for user access to files on the City of Salem’s web site, such as Adobe’s Acrobat PDF Reader plug-in.
• Links to research or data that supports a City of Salem program or activity.
• Links to businesses located at and operating from McNary Field that provide general aviation, fixed- based operator and other incidental services related to aviation, such as meals and rental cars available on the airport site and available to the general public.
