Downtown Revitalization Strategy

Create a downtown Economic/Business Improvement District.

Status Update

Go Downtown Salem!, was incorporated in July, 2007.  The City Council approved funding for a contract with Go Downtown Salem! in July, 2007 to develop a downtown economic improvement district (EID) and a coordinated downtown image and promotions effort.  Go Downtown Salem! is currently working on an assessment method and conducting outreach to downtown property owners to develop support for the EID.  It is anticipated that the City Council will consider an ordinance creating the EID during fall 2007.
