Downtown Revitalization Strategy

Work to create housing projects to add 100 units of workforce housing in the downtown core.

Status Update

Site "B"
The YWCA Administrative Office moved into the project in January.  Temporary Certificates of Occupancy for the housing units were issued in November 2007.  Since that time 20 residential units have been leased with an additional 18 applications in process.

Site "A"
Construction of Broadway Town Center is underway.  When completed, this project will add an additional 21 market rate rental units and 16 for-sale town homes to the community.

Toolbox
The Metropolitan Building had its first housing units occupied in February.  Leasing is underway for the commercial/retail ground floor, mezzanine, and basement space.  The old Anderson's Sporting Goods Store facade has been restored to its original beauty opening two separate buildings under the old facade.  The old Washington Federal space on the corner of Liberty and Court is under renovation to be occupied by the French Unicorn.  Toolbox funds will be used for exterior facade upgrades.
