Airport air service and infrastructure.



Status Update

Through February 2008, 16,742  passengers were enplaned [departed] through Salem's Delta Air Line service and 16,440 deplaned [arrived].  28,524 passengers were processed through the terminal from June 7, 2007 through December 2007.  The City is pursuing the possibility of adding a California flight to better accommodate Salem area passengers. 

Infrastructure improvements to allow development in the South Corporate Hangar/Industrial Area have been completed and hangar construction has begun.

Security fencing and lighting improvements are completed.

Additional Infrastructure & Maintenance Strategies
A. Widen Kuebler Boulevard.   I. Complete the crosswalks in schools and spend more on pedestrian access.
B. Continue efforts to establish a new Willamette River bridge.   J. Reprioritize CIP street and parks projects to focus on areas of high growth.
C. Build a Minto-Brown pedestrian/bike bridge.   K. Develop Marine Drive as a part of the third bridge over the Willamette.
D. Implement the Save Our Streets Committee recommendations for street maintenance.   L. Pursue a bond measure for street improvements.
E. Implement and fund the deferred maintenance plan for city-owned facilities.   M. Resurface Sunnyview west of the Fairgrounds.
G. Pursue grants for railroad bridge rehabilitation.   N. Improve maintenance work on Olinger Pool, contingent upon participation by the Salem-Keizer School District.
H. Improve traffic mobility.
