AUTHORITY: Housing Authority Resolution No. 748 TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: Housing Authority Chair Recommendation with Board Approval
NUMBER OF MEMBERS: Ten TERM LENGTH: Four years

The Salem Housing Advisory Committee advises the City Council and Salem Housing Authority on housing goals and policies, including low and moderate income housing needs, housing assistance programs and Housing Authority budgets. Meetings are held the last Wednesday of each month at noon.

Special membership requirements: The committee shall represent, as far as practicable: 1) the general public; 2) persons being assisted by the Salem Housing Authority; 3) real estate sales, development and finance; 4) elderly and minority groups, 5) elected or appointed officials of social services agencies; 6) school district 24J; and, 7) legal and design professions. There is no in-city residency requirement.
