The Salem Social Service Advisory Board advises the Council on social service needs and programs, and monitors ongoing social service programs. Meetings are held the third Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m.

Special membership requirements: The Commission shall consist of the Chair of the Human Rights & Relations Advisory Commission or their designee, a representative of United Way, the president of the Chamber of Commerce or their designee, and eight other members to be appointed by the Mayor. Members shall be residents of or have their place of business in the City of Salem.
