What is the Public Library Advisory Board?
The Library Advisory Board is established by City ordinance. The Board serves to provide citizen input and advise library management. In addition, the Board makes policy and library development recommendations to the City Council. The Board consists of nine members appointed by the City Council. Board members serve a term of four years, and can serve for two consecutive terms. The Library Director serves as Secretary for Board meetings.
When does Public Library Advisory Board meet?
Monthly Board Meetings are held at the Salem Public Library at 7 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month, except July and December. These meetings are open to the public and anyone can attend. The agenda and minutes are available at the Reference Desk.
