Description: An outstanding example of the native Oregon white oak, both in shape and size. This branching giant is well over 300 years old.

Location: Waldo Park (corner of Summer & Union St.)

Description: Judge William Waldo planted this tree in 1872. Waldo made efforts during his lifetime to preserve this tree and, although the street system has grown around the tree, it remains to this day. The tree has been a City park since 1936. Supplemental information available.

Description: This uncommon tree is a very large and beautiful addition to our Heritage Tree list. Silver Lindens are native to southeastern Europe and western Asia. Interestingly, some reports indicate that the flowers are narcotic to bees.

Location: Corner of Court and Waverly (Capitol grounds)

Description: This tree is a landmark between the Capitol grounds and the Commerce building. Tulip trees are reported to be the largest growing deciduous trees in the United States.
