Curbside Recycling of Water-Based Paints

Marion County has implemented an effective program for recycling water-based paint as part of our curbside recycling collection program. Not only is this material removed from the waste stream, it becomes a key element in local graffiti prevention.

Along with your regular weekly recycling, you can set out up to two cans of paint for collection. Please follow these simple guidelines:

Water-based paint of any color is accepted

Quantities as small as 1/4 can

No - Rusty Cans

No - Hardened Pain

No - Oil-Based Paints or Stains

No - Specialty Paints (textured, etc.)

No - Hazardous Waste

Collected paint is then mixed, blended and repackaged. This product is available for graffiti cleanup at no charge through Marion County Recycling.  3250 Deer Park Drive SE, Salem, OR.
