POWER Program

Donations

Why Donate

The POWER Program is committed to providing quality after-school enrichment activities at little or no cost to our youth participants. More often than not, the $5 registration fee is waived.

Your financial contribution can help!

As you know, times are changing:

  • Many parents are required to work multiple jobs to make ends meet and do not have the resources for adequate supervision after school.
  • Budget crises mean that enrichment classes (art, physical educaiton, music, dance, industrial arts, etc.) are increasingly cut from the school day, leaving students with bare-bones course offerings that no longer optimize the holistic development of students.
  • The safety of our youth after school is jeopardized by a crime and drug epidemic in the Salem-Keizer area.

What Your Contribution Buys

Your financial contribution can help support our developing youth by providing safe and character-developing outlets in the after-school hours.

  • $5,400 provides a year of one more day per week of after-school enrichment for one school.
  • $3,000 provides one middle school with supplies, snacks, and materials for a year.
  • $1,100 provides a computer for 90 youth for one term.
  • $450 provides scholarships for 90 youth for one term.
  • $300 provides an instructor for one class for one term.
  • $100 provides a ping pong table for school teen centers.

Donor Recognition

All donors (if they choose) will receive the following recognition:

  • 2'x4' sponsor signs in each middle school
  • Recognition in all POWER publications
  • Tax write-off information
