Property within city limits has a specific zoning classification. There are several different types of zoning classifications. These designations determine permitted uses for a property and developments standards associated with the land.  Some of the most commonly asked zoning questions are listed below.

  1. Go to the City's Zoning Maps

  2. Determine what area you are in the City (Northeast, Southeast, South or West) and click on that area.

  3. Once you have found your property, determine the Zoning Designation by viewing the table on the right.

  4. Go to the Salem Revised Code to view the relevant Code Section.
