Zoning and Compliance Services includes three separate sections of review - Zoning Plan Review and Compliance, Sign Permitting and Inspections , and the Multifamily Inspection Program .

Zoning Information

Permit Application Center and Current Planners are available to answers questions about land use activities and zoning on properties within the City of Salem.  Planners are available from 8-5 Monday through Friday at 555 Liberty St SE, RM 320 or at (503) 588-6256 ext. 7427.  Questions involving your zoning or land use applications can be directed to the above number as well.

Zoning Plan Review and Compliance

For all projects requiring a building permit, PAC planners review these proposals for compliance with Salem Revised Code.  We are committed to a ten-day turn around for new residential dwellings and we strive to be expeditious in our review of all other types of projects.

Zoning Code Enforcement

Our Zoning Code Officer fields complaints from the public regarding potential code violations, issues correction notices on zoning code violations and works with property owners to gain compliance with the Salem Revised Code.
