Fairmount National Register District Nomination Information
Welcome to the Fairmount National Register District Nomination page. The City of Salem, in conjunction with a group of interested residents, is in the process of nominating the Fairmount neighborhood as a National Register district. The City of Salem’s Historic Landmarks and Design Review Commission, funded by a grant from the Oregon State Historic Preservation Office, have undertaken this work in cooperation with representatives from the Fairmount neighborhood.
In 2006-2007 the consultant team, with the cooperation and assistance of the Fairmount Subcommittee completed a survey of the Fairmount neighborhood. In 2007-2008 we will be continuing our work and will be drafting a National Register District nomination for the Fairmount neighborhood. Please see below for links to the final report as well as a timeline for the next year’s work.
